System Requirements

RequiredRecommended

2GB RAM8GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce MX150Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 (For Excellent Performance
128GB SSD Storage512GB SSD Storage
13.3-Inches Display15.6-Inches Display for better viewing

These requirements and recommendations have been formulated following extensive research conducted on the Internet and Wikipedia. Hence, there is no need for any concerns or apprehensions.

RAMThe minimum requirement of the RAM for Kali Linux is about 2GB, but here I am recommending you 8GB because in these modern times 2GB is very low for a laptop and it may disturb you while working, so, therefore, proper work needs a proper capacity.

Storage: Experts may know that Kali requires 20GB of space for installation and will be taken on penetrating tasting, so in that case, you’ll need lots of extra space. The more space you installed on your laptop the more results you’ll get.

ProcessorI know that every processor can be used for Kali Linux even if it’s i3/i5/i7 or dual-core or even multi-core processor because these all are good and healthy. This processor will be a waste of time, as it will slow the entire process and will be a useless option. Therefore I recommend i5 or i7 processors for Kali Linux.

Graphics Card: The graphic card is not a requirement of a Kali Linux but still, it’s better to have a graphic card on your laptop for getting an amazing working and performing experience. In most of the laptops, the graphic cards were being installed already.

DisplayThe display is not compulsory for Kali Linux because it can be also run with an 8-inches screen seriously, I am not joking. But as far as I am also a hacker I feel like it’s very irritating for a person to use a small size screen while hacking or programming.

The Lenovo Ideapad L340 is one of the best laptop for Kali Linux users, UHD enabled, fast gaming, and multimedia experience. It is powered by an Intel Core i5-9300H Processor along with 8GB RAM and a 512GB NVme SSD. This laptop offers power and performance at a very competitive price. The experience is further enhanced by the laptop’s NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Graphics Card for a smooth visual experience.

The Ideapad L340 comes equipped with an IPS display that is luminous and vivid. The contrast ratio is also very good. It has a 15.6-inch screen size and comes with a 1.3-megapixel webcam. The Webcam and microphone, look and sound about average though it looks a little dark you can easily change the brightness setting through the Lenovo vintage software. The brightness can also be controlled in two different levels or turned off completely by pressing the function and space bar.

There’s more screen flex than expected considering how thick it is, and that the hinge runs along most of the width of the body. You can easily open the screen even with your finger as well, but it did feel a little back-heavy but no problem with using it on your lap.

The Keyboard only has blue backlighting and it lights up everything which is a very good thing for the hackers or programmers who works late at night. They can easily take advantage of its blue light in the darkness.

You may like typing on the keyboard if you are a fan of smaller arrow keys. The key pressing wasn’t mushy and sounds really great. There wasn’t as much keyboard flex as you may expect from a plastic build, it seemed pretty sturdy all things considered. The Touchpad uses ELAN drivers, is smooth, and worked well enough. It clicks down anywhere with left and right click down the bottom, though the usually two fingers click anywhere for right-click works too.

The Keyboard Color cant be changed

MSI laptops are known for being thin and light. The latest to join the family is the MSI GV62, a great option for those who want a more lightweight laptop. It’s an entry-level machine that will cost you a very responsible price rather less than other machines with similar specs. It features a 15.6-inch LED-backlit screen, making it one of the smallest laptops on the market.

As a TN panel, the viewing angles weren’t very good, side to side didn’t change too much but up and down resulted in a massive color shift you’ll definitely want to look it at its front where possible. The screen doesn’t get bright either, at 100% you may look at 227 nits. While moving the display there was some flex but it wasn’t too bad overall id say it felt sturdy. It cant be opened easily with one finger, demonstrating with the weight seems to be up towards the back.

For the network connectivity, there’s a gigabit ethernet port, support for 802.11ac WiFi, as well as Bluetooth version 5.0. The lid and interior are both grey plastic with a sort of brushed finish. They er both nice and smooth and the lid was a little darker than the inside. The corners and edges are smooth and basically, everything is plastic made.

This MSI laptop comes with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050Ti 4G graphics card which powers the 15.6 inches 1080p 60Hz TN panel, but it also with IPS. There’s an Intel Core i7-8750H CPU that has 4 cores and can turbo up to 2.2 GHz in single-core workloads, although it’s available with the i5-8300H. In this unit, there’s one 8GB DDR4 memory running at 2400MHz in a single channel, but the two slots can support up to 32GB at 2666MHz speeds.

There’s some keyboard flex, although this wasn’t an issue while typing normally, although there was quite a bit more flex down in the wrist rest areas, but again not really an issue during normal use. The Touchpad worked well, it uses synaptic drivers and was smooth to the touch.

There are physically separate left and right-click buttons that were quite clicky, again no issues here. Moving onto the I/O on the left there’s a Kensington lock, gigabit ethernet port, USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A port, HDMI port, Mini display port, a second USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A port, USB 3.1 Gen Type-C port, no thunderbolt support here, unfortunately, and 3.5mm headphone and mic jacks are available.

On the right side, there’s only a USB 2.0 Type-A port and the SD Card slot. Overall I think for a hacker or Pentesting this laptop is the best choice. The battery timing of this laptop is about 5-6 Hours a day which is enough for Kali Linux.

The TUF FX 505DT by Asus is equipped with Military Grade Test features and is recommended for use with Kali Linux. Kali Linux can now be installed on this tough laptop and is considered an entry-level machine This is one tough piece of a laptop with a TLDR version performing an astounding job matching the right components to provide you with amazing results at a responsible price.

If you are looking for extreme portability or enthusiast to your hardware and this product may not satisfying rich. Basically, it is designed for those who are looking for a practical and great value with a slide nod towards the emergent gamer within.

So for your TL DR types is rested information for you. This laptop is supporting a brand new AMD Ryzen R5-3550H Processor. The shelves house a fork or an eight-thread CPU running at a 2.3 GHz base clock and control bow all the way up to four gigahertz.

This Steve MD turbo core technology is quite different from Intels turbo boost, given the right conditions such as power draw and thermals the 3550H turbo speeds apply to all 4 physical cores. While the simplifying for virtual cores are very different from Intels technology which results in only one to two cores boosting on most Intels CPUs while thus blinking all virtual cores. In this laptop, we have a 15.6 inch IPS display running a full HD resolution which is about 1920 by 1080 pixels.

I must say it is smart to pair this display with a 4-gigabyte GTX 1650 video card because an integrated GPU just wouldn’t do the refresh rate justice speaking of which the new bigoted integrated graphics. It is still a great value it’s not fully disabled its quite opposite in fact they slapped up automatically detects the graphical workload and assign the most appropriate GP for the job this will help thermals and battery life having even more storage. In this laptop you’ll get an 8GB RAM running at 2666 megahertz, the great news is there’s one available slot which you should choose to do a RAM upgrade which by the way easy access.

The Keyboard is backlighted and gives an Awesome performance to the user whether its use for gaming and Kali Linux. The Battery Timing of the laptop is about 4-5 hours a day which I think very perfect for Kali Linux as if you more sit on your laptop it may damage your eyes as well.

Razer, the world’s leading high-performance gaming hardware manufacturer, announced a new line of products for the mobile computing market that include the first mobile workstation complete with the discrete graphics card and unparalleled for Linux performance.

The new line of Razer Blade laptops is designed to overcome the limitations of mainstream laptops by bringing an uncompromising level of performance to users’ hands. Razer’s newest workstation line-up features the Razer Blade 15, the world’s first laptop complete with a dedicated graphics card and gives the Kali user amazing results as well.

The Design Standpoint is very nice and authentic. it gives a boxy design with an anodized aluminum chassis, also you got a razer logo on the front lid. The interior space, keyboard layout, switches, and perky chroma lighting are very similar to the previous razers model. Even though the trackpad is still one of the best that you can find on a windows laptop. The switches were better this time, especially when compared to the rugs offering.

Razer is proud to announce the updated Razer Blade 15, the first laptop to offer the all-new 10 Gen Intel Core i7 processor with a powerful NVIDIA GeForce GTX 2060 graphics card. This powerhouse combination of hardware features, new innovations, and modern design will bring you closer than ever to the gaming experience. With its amazing processor, the Razer decided to combine 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD, As a result, the Kali experience becomes more advanced.

In addition to Kali Linux users, this laptop is also primarily used by gamers. On this laptop, they play very high-end games and according to their experience, it is the best they’ve ever used. It comes with an excellent keyboard with good travel distance, a very satisfying feeling when you bottom out, or even the XPS 15 or 17 series they manage to keep it low profile, and yet it’s just very satisfying to type on. There’s a medium-sized Trackpad situated in the middle of the laptop which gives an awesome drawing quality,

This design of this laptop quite frankly looks boring. The Webcam quality is worst on the laptop, i mean it just crushed the shadows and did not look much good. The front-facing speakers sound pretty are a bit nice but do not provide the premium quality as the Asus TUF FX505DT provides. They sound just OK. The Battery timing of this laptop is about 6-7 hours so you can utilize it according to your daily routine as well.

REASONS TO BUY

Excellent Performance

Ultra Budget Friendly

Cool looking design

Good Keyboard and Trackpad Quality

Best for Kali Linux

REASONS TO AVOID

The trackpad size is a bit smaller.

This laptop comes with a 15-inches screen with the Intel Core i5-1135G7 which is the 11Gen Tiger lack processor. It has a dedicated Nvidia Geforce MX350 with 2GB of VRAM, 8GB of DDR4 RAM, and 512GB of PCIe storage as well. The amazing thing about this laptop is that it has WiFi 6 wireless internet connectivity with Bluetooth 5 which means you can actually enjoy the best Internet at a low speed as well.

Starting from the design and built, my first impression when I held the laptop was how premium it felt, which has always been the case for Asus laptops as they have always made sure of their high-quality premium build.

It weighs at 1.7Kg which was great even for a laptop of this size, it is also 17.9mm thin. The reason why this laptop is so light and durable is because of its combination of aluminum alloy and high-quality plastic build, which comes in several colors for you guys to choose from. The one which I have is called the Aluminium Silver, then it’s also available in Indie Black and hearty Gold, so yes this means that this would be a great option for those of you who are in the creative industry like Hacking, pen testing, or Kali Linux, etc.

As I personally think that these are the kind of people who would appreciate the overall design and aesthetics of the laptop. For example: if you just look at the very cool, stand-out color-blocking Enter key, the ASUS Vivobook 15 does indeed add flair and dynamism to your daily computing. Now let’s talk about the laptop’s screen.

The Vivobook 15 that I have mentioned is the 15.6-inch variant screen. Where it comes with 1920 by 1080 pixels resolution with the Nanoedge display, with minimal bezels of about 6.1mm, a 720p HD camera on top, and an 85% screen to body ratio.

And what’s nice is the fact that the screen also has great viewing angles up to 178 degrees wide, so this would be beneficial when it comes to sharing a screen with somebody else. So when it comes to consuming content on the screen, it gives a very much relaxation to the Linux users while they working on some project or somewhere else. I think as a kali Linux user, the most important thing that you may need in a laptop is the keyboard quality as well.

You may feel that the Touchpad is a bit smaller than what you may usually use in your daily routine, which I think is not a big issue. As you may start using a laptop in your daily routine, you may not find this thing as an issue. All kinds of ports that are may necessary are available on this laptop, so you may not need to be worried about the ports. All the important ports are available.

As far as the laptop’s battery, it comes with a 3-cell 42-watt-hour battery, and when you use it for kali Linux it may give you up to 7-8 hours a day, which is probably more than enough for a kali user I think. Further, it’s up to you how much you use it.

Overall I think it’s the best laptop for kali Linux to its amazing and outstanding features and Specification. Most importantly the best thing about this laptop is that it’s very budget-friendly, so you may not need to sell your one kidney for buying it.

A Bit Pricey

The Helios 300 can be easily called one of the best laptop for kali Linux of all time and so Acer has given its best in making the 2025 edition of the helios 300 even better. It’s got a great set of features, and the design is amazing. It’s not easy to find good quality for a reasonable price.

The Acer Helios 300 is one of the best laptops that you can buy right now. One of the best things about the helios 300 is the ventilation and I am sure you’ll be very happy with its performance and quality.

In terms of specs, the helios 300 is a complete package and it has all the important features you’d expect from a laptop in this price range. What’s more, Acer has also thrown in some handy extras like a great keyboard, an awesome display, and a solid battery life to round things up.

The Helios 300 drops you into the game with everything you need to begin your kali Linux journey, a fantastic display screen. The 1080p 3ms 144hz IPS display looks great and also has great viewing angles.

There’s a 16GB DDR RAM with dual channels and 512GB NVMe SSD, which is the best combination for Kali Linux as well as for gaming also. In terms of port selection, I think Acer has done a very good job here. On the left side, there’s a Kensington lock port, an ethernet port, two USB-A ports, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. On the right side, there’s a mini display port and HDMI port, a third USB-A port, and a USB Type-C port.

There’s a reasonably sized Trackpad inside the laptop, which gives an amazing gesture experience. It looks very awesome and the quality is also very amazing. Inside there’s an edge-to-edge Keyboard featuring the colorful four-zone RGB lightning which you can customize according to your preference.

During usage, you’ll find a minimal flex on the keyboard that took on pressing hard so that is good. In my opinion, this is a very good keyboard with decently spaced keys and travel on this is excellent. The battery timing is about 7-8 hours which you can utilize according to your time and routine. Overall I would say it is the best laptop for Kali Linux.

Best Laptop For Kali Linux

SPECIFICATIONS

Display: 14″ Full HD Widescreen IPS | Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 4700U Octa-Core Mobile | RAM: 8GB | Storage: 512GB SSD | Graphics Card: Radeon Graphics

REASONS TO BUY

Amazing Performance

Outstanding Display

Budget-Friendly

Thin and Lightweight

Superb Battery Timing

REASONS TO AVOID

No Ethernet or Thunderbolt 3

This Acer Swift 3 is specially designed for Kali Linux users as well, due to its budget-friendliness and compact design. It comes with AMD Ryzen 7 4700U Octa-Core processor with amazing Radeon Graphics which may help Kali Linux users to complete their work within a specific time period. The top specs configurations with AMD Ryzen 7 processor with 8GB LPDDR RAM and 512GB NVMe SSD is soldered on, so you have to make your session weather to get the laptop.

The use of aluminum alloy does make this laptop feel sturdy and lightweight, but I wouldn’t say that this is the lightest laptop I’ve ever seen. But since this is an entry-level swift model, Acer does strike a quite reasonable balance the weight and rigidity. In terms of the port, you’ll get a traditional barrel charging port, a thunderbolt 4 port which is also USB-Type C, one full-size HDMI, and another USB 3.2 Type-A port.

Meanwhile, on the right side, there’s a 3.5-millimeter audio combo jack and USB 2.0 Type-A port, I don’t why laptop manufacturers are still offering USB 2.0 in the year 2025, but what can we say. I know it comes with a standard motherboard chipset but how expensive it is to offer 3.0. the five gigabytes that one.

The white Keyboard is very nice to type on as it doesn’t sacrifice the travel distance for the slim build, i do have a minor complaint about the power button placement as it needs a stiffer spring to prevent accidental press or just put it elsewhere.

The Trackpad is surprisingly good with finger and gesture tracking even though it is not like those premium glass-type touchpads. While Microsoft has done a great job on the precision touchpad driver, the palm rejection still required a lot of work in order to give a better user experience. Moving on to the display, it is a 14-inch 1080p IPS panel made by chi mei, and it is a decent choice for a laptop within this price range and also for kali Linux users who want a laptop with amazing features.

Moreover, it has a great color gamma coverage and about 60 percent SRGB well it is good enough for your kali Linux projects. The brightness range is about 20 to 280 nits, which means that it’s best for some other usage occasions, even though it’s a market for this laptop to have narrow bezel designs but let’s face it we have seen better and modern bezels on other laptops.

For sure you get a 720p webcam at the top but it didn’t support windows hello authentication, but the best thing is that it gives you a fingerprint scanner that is working with windows hello. By the way, the hinge of this laptop is opened at 180 degrees.

The battery timing of this laptop is super amazing as it gives you up to 11.5 hours a day which is an outstanding period of time so that you can also utilize it according to your comfort.

The Lenovo legion 5 is one of the best laptop for Kali Linux under 1000 dollars, as it gives you all the necessary features and specs at a reliable price tag. It’s got basically everything you’d want in a mid-range Linux Laptop, including a 16 core AMD Ryzen 7 5800H Processor, with an advanced NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti and 144Hz screen. It’s got a plastic build with a black finish. Although it looks nicer than the older variant, the interior is soft rubbed-off material. There are also some laptops which are under 1000 which you can see by clicking here.

The build quality is very decent with no edges or sharp corners. Lenovo has a weight of 2.5Kg, though this laptop and if we combine the power bricks and other stuff then it reaches up to 3.1Kg almost. The size is pretty average for this 15’inch Linux laptop at this price point, so not thin by any means but not big.

It’s got a 15.6-inch 1080p 144Hz screen display with a 60Hz to 144Hz FreeSync range. Lenovo gives us the option to disable the Optimus aka hybrid mode after a reboot, through the vantage software, which gives a performance boost while doing Linux work at the expense of battery life.

It’s got 1.5mm travel and it just feels nice and clicky also it sounds very good. You may like the arrow keys aren’t small and instead are pushing down a little to make space. The power button is separate from the keyboard and lights up to show up the reflex to the performance mode in use which makes it easy to quickly visual see which, mode see which you are in.

The precision Trackpad is smooth, clicks down anywhere, and it worked fine. The weight distribution on this laptop is very great, it may allow you to open up the laptop within a finger, and the screen goes the full 180 degrees back. There’s some flex to the lid, but not as much as the laptops. You’ll also find some flex in the keyboard due to the plastic finish but no need to be worried at all.

On the left side, we’ll get an Air Exhaust Vent, USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A port, and 3.5mm audio combo jack. The right side has another USB 3.2 Gen Type1 port and there’s an exhaust fan on this side too. This laptop also has an SD Card slot. The back has nan more exhaust towards the corner, then left to right there’s a gigabit ethernet port, USB 3.2 Type-C port with DisplayPort output, no thunderbolt, two more USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A ports for 4 in total, HDMI, 2.0 output, power input, and Kensington lock.

The battery timing of this laptop is about 5-6 Hours a day so that you can complete your all Linux work in this specific time period.

Asus Rog Strix G15 is one of the best laptop for Kali Linux as it comes with advanced features and specs in the market within a responsible price range. It comes with the latest Intel Core i7 10750H 6-core Processor which is combined with the GTX 1650 Ti Graphic Card. The best thing which I like most about this laptop is that it offers 32GB RAM and 1TB PCIe SSD within a very responsible price range which has shocked the whole market.

By the way, the smooth texture on the base feels pretty good while the lid opens with a single hand, you may find it weak and Flexi. The Bezels are very thin on the top and the side of the matte display and a larger cut bottom bezel and sadly no camera to play with it. There’s a nice 144hz IPS Panel on Asus G15 with a Full HD resolution, good contrast ratio, and comfortable living angles. However, it is only able to display 60% of the color of the web.

If you look at the Keyboard, you’ll see pretty much the same unit as on the big brother the Strix g17 minus the number back in its place. There is a set of multimedia keys speaking of the additional buttons there are 5 keys above the keyboard, they control the sound volume tun on and off the microphone toggle between performance presets and open the armory crate which is very helpful in the competition in Kali Linux.

There are also vents on the bottom panel for the cool air intake, hot air on the other hand is exhausted from the two grills on the backside and one on each side of the device. The I/O here is placed on the back and on the left side while on the left there are only two USB 3.1 Gen1 Type-A ports and an audio jack the back houses the power plug. Rj45 connector HDMI 2.0b connector, a USB 3.1 Gen1 Type-A port with Display port output and power delivery functions as well as another USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A port.

Unfortunately, there is no SD card reader on board, you also get the thunderbolt connectivity. Other than that the I/O is Ok. By the way, if you look at the back of the laptop you’ll see that one of the grills had something that looks like a letter, in fact, it reads a movie that converted from the roman numerals meaning 2006. the year the ROG brand was created.

The Batter Timing of this laptop is also very nice and satisfying like it gives you 7-8 Hours a day while using it for Kali Linux only. Overall I like the laptop very much and would say that it’s the best laptop for Kali Linux and highly recommend it due to its excellent features and specs.

Lenovo IdeaPad Y700 is a very popular laptop for Kali Linux in the market due to its amazing build quality and performance. An Intel Core i7-6700HQ processor clocked at 2.6Hz with the combination of 16GB RAM. also Nvidia GeForce GTX 960M graphic card is available in this laptop so that as a Linux user you can take advantage of it. If I talk about its design then I want to say that Lenovo once again turns to its tried and true brushed metal design that they have used for a number of years.

The entire outer housing is using brushed aluminum this time giving it a very solid feel. This laptop comes with a 17.3-inches full HD screen with an amazing display panel that allows you to perform your tasks very easily.

Lenovo didn’t stay far from their previous design at all, keeping this quite similar even the vary similarly closed vents in the rear on the left and right sides. Even going so far as to keep the same lid slants on the edges. But hey why fix something that hasn’t broken. I’ll say that this definitely gets them that Kali Linux appeal that they are looking for, a market they are learning is quite profitable.

So let’s turn out attention to connectivity, the Y700 makes no changes in connectivity from the last generation sporting the usual dual USB 3.0 HDMI Ethernet Jack and Kensington security lock as well as the new standard power port always on the USB 2.0 slot an SD card slot and headphone and headset jack combo. Through they did adapt their recovery button by making it pinhole, whereas before everyone would accidentally hit recover and freak out when their PC wants to reformat.

But you actually have to internally put something in the pinhole to recover your hard drive. The first and most noticeable thing is the keyboard, Lenovo’s favorite keyboard style makes its return once again. Shrunken and moved-around keys are a trademark of Lenovo chiclet-style keyboard, though. I fo say that the keys feel very tactile and they are quite responsive, you may really enjoy typing on it. And for Kali Linux, they finally throw a bone with the WASD keys being outlined in red.
